Duration Of Contract: One (1) Year – Starting from 1st October 2025 – 30th October 2026

JOB Descriptions:
The District Focal Persons shall play a pivotal role that would be assigned by the U Team SL Secretariat, for the coordination, communication, collaboration and facilitation of various initiatives and projects related to the U Team SL Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) (2024-2030).
Roles And Responsibilities
1. Community Engagement:
- As it will be directed by the U Team SL Secretariat, the U Team SL Focal Persons shall lead the management and implementation of U Team SL activities and initiatives at Village / Town, Section, Chiefdom and District levels (District of Representation).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with MDAs, community members, local leaders, stakeholders, CBOs, CSOs, donors, and other partners.
- Identify key issues and challenges within the district in line with the U Team SL Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) (2024-2030).
- Coordinate community meetings, workshops, surveys / research, conferences and events directed by the U Team SL Secretariat to raise advocacy, sensitization, awareness and foster dialogue on relevant topics / initiatives in accordance to its mission and vision.
- Monitor and report on service delivery in all development activities in the district within the scope of the U Team SL Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) (2024-2030).
- Coordinate, collaborate, communicate and partner with all MDAs, indigenous organizations, CBOs, CSOs, national and international organizations in effective and efficient service delivery in the district.
- Engage youth, women, children and stakeholders on development activities.
- Take direct directives from the U Team SL Secretariat on all programs in the district.
- Perform any other task(s) assign to him/her by the U Team SL Secretariat.
2. Volunteer Management:
- With directives from the U Team SL Secretariat, the U Team SL Focal Persons shall supervise and coordinate recruited and trained volunteers to support various activities and initiatives in the district in-line with the U Team SL Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) (2024-2030).
- Help to delegate tasks and responsibilities assigned by the U Team SL Secretariat; ensuring that volunteers are engaged and motivated to contribute to the organization’s mission.
- Conduct performance appraisal process to all U Team SL volunteers in the district on the directives of the U Team SL Secretariat.
- On the directives of the U Team SL Secretariat, provide ongoing support and guidance to volunteers and beneficiaries, fostering a positive, efficient and inclusive team work.
3. Advocacy and Networking:
- On the directives of the U Team SL Secretariat, advocate for policy changes and community-driven solutions to address systemic issues in line with the U Team SL Six Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) (2024-2030).
- Represent the organization in meetings, conferences, and other networking events to establish partnerships and mobilize support for initiatives, with directives from the U Team SL Secretariat
- Help the U Team SL Secretariat to increase the visibility of the U Team SL through volunteerism, partnership, coordination, collaboration, communication, networking, creativity and innovative initiatives.
4. Monitoring and Reporting:
Help the U Team SL Secretariat to maintain accurate records of project activities (database), expenses, and outcomes, in-line with the U Team SL Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) (2024-2030).
5. Qualifications:
- Must be a registered and fully paid-up member of the U Team SL before recruited.
Must have completed a tertiary education program in: (HND, HTC, TC, ND). Holder of First Degree and above in any field of studies is additional advantage. - Work experience in field of community development and social impact programs.
- Strong communication skills in English Language, writing and interpersonal skills.
- Appreciable degree of knowledge in the local dialect.
- Must be a residence in the District of application; preferably, District Headquarters Town.
- Excellent volunteerism spirits, organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to volunteer to work effectively in a team as well as independently, even during difficult times.
- Experience in project management or community mobilization and support.
- Familiarity with the local context and issues facing the district is an added advantage.
