
Pujehun District, Saturday, November 8th, 2025: Stakeholders and media representatives from Pujehun District including the Pujehun District Descendants Association (PDDA) led by Chairman Patrick Ansu Kaikai, Radio Wanjei FM 101.1, Moonlight Radio Bo and other media and community leaders actively participated in the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) Conference held in Pujehun District on November 8th 2025 under the theme: “Transforming From District to National – The Role of Youth in Nation Building.” Their collective presence at this landmark gathering underscored the importance of collaboration, civic engagement, and communication in advancing grassroots-driven development and empowering Sierra Leone’s youth.

They commended U Team SL for its bold vision and mission to transform Pujehun District into a model of inclusive growth and national relevance. He emphasized that the organization’s focus on youth empowerment, volunteerism, peace, unity, and sustainability resonates strongly with the aspirations of descendants and stakeholders of the district.

“This conference is a defining moment for Pujehun. As descendants and stakeholders, we must stand together with U Team SL to ensure that the voices of our youth are amplified and their dreams supported. The future of our district depends on our collective action, and today we reaffirm our commitment to building a stronger, united, and more resilient Pujehun,”they stated.

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the mission and vision of U Team SL, pledging to work alongside the organization in advancing programs that promote education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. They stressed that volunteerism must be embraced as a civic duty, noting that collective action by citizens is essential for peace, unity, and sustainable progress.

Media Representatives highlighted the role of media in promoting civic dialogue, accountability, and awareness. They pledged to use their platform to amplify the voices of youth and women, share success stories, and foster community engagement around U Team SL’s initiatives. “Media is a powerful tool for transformation. We will continue to partner with U Team SL to ensure that the message of unity, peace, and development reaches every corner of Pujehun,” they affirmed.

Other stakeholders present at the conference echoed similar sentiments, emphasizing the importance of partnerships between civil society, local government, media, and international institutions. They noted that community-driven projects remain central to fostering resilience, inclusivity, and sustainable development.

Stakeholders also acknowledged the challenges facing Pujehun District, noting that the conference provided a platform for honest dialogue and collective solutions. They encouraged descendants of the district, leaders, and stakeholders to unite behind U Team SL’s Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP 2024–2030), which envisions Pujehun as a hub of resilience, innovation, and youth-led transformation.


Concluding their participation, stakeholders and the media representatives issued a powerful call to action: “Let us unite behind the promise of a better future for Pujehun District and Sierra Leone. Let us embrace volunteerism, strengthen peace, and champion unity. Together, we can transform dreams into reality and ensure that the story of Pujehun becomes a beacon of hope and progress for the entire nation.”
