Key Summary Profile of U Team SL (United Team Sierra Leone)
U Team SL, also known as United Team Sierra Leone, was founded in 2014 and initially registered as a Community-Based Organization under the name United Team of Pujehun District (UN Team Pujehun). Through hard work and dedication to service delivery, the organization gained formal national recognition on January 1, 2018, expanding its vision and mandate. In line with its mission to strengthen and support youth-led initiatives for national development, U Team SL has undertaken public outreach efforts to assess its impact and progress over the years. Recognizing the need to expand beyond its initial focus on Pujehun District, the general membership unanimously agreed to broaden the organization’s mandate and scope at the national level.
To this end, U Team SL was formally launched through a three-day conference held in Pujehun District from November 7–9, 2025, under the theme “Transforming From District to National: The Role of Youth in Nation Building.” As a result, the general membership of UN Team Pujehun unanimously agreed to change its name to U Team SL (United Team Sierra Leone).

This change reflects the organization’s commitment to fostering volunteerism, mentorship, peace, unity, development, and sustainability across Sierra Leone. Having formalized the necessary statutory processes to operate as a national organization, United Team Sierra Leone is now a registered non-profit development organization dedicated to promoting peace, unity, development, and sustainability nationwide.
