United Team Sierra Leone – U Team SL’s mission featured strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration across the Mano River Union and ECOWAS sub-region.

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team-SL) delegation paid a diplomatic courtesy visit to the Embassy of Sierra Leone in Monrovia, Liberia, where they were warmly received by His Excellency Ambassador Eddy S. Massally, Deputy Ambassador Lusanie Kallon and other members of the mission.

Led by Founding Member Madam Watta Koroma, the delegation explained that the purpose of the visit was to advance U Team SL’s institutional mandate of strategic stakeholders’ engagements, partnership building, and regional development collaboration.

The meeting provided an opportunity to share the organisation’s vision and strengthen ties with Sierra Leone’s diplomatic mission in Liberia.
During the engagement, the Head of the U Team SL Secretariat, Mr. Mohamed Kallon, expressed gratitude to Ambassador Massally for hosting the delegation.

He outlined the organisation’s Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (2024–2030), which aligns with Sierra Leone’s Mid-Term National Development Plan, emphasizing sustainable growth, regional cooperation, and empowerment initiatives.

In his remarks, Ambassador Massally commended U Team SL for its proactive initiatives aimed at empowering Sierra Leoneans, particularly the youth and women, both at home and across the region. He praised the organisation’s commitment to fostering unity and development, noting that such grassroots efforts complement national priorities.

Ambassador Massally further reaffirmed the Embassy’s willingness to support and contribute to the developmental growth of youth-led organizations through diplomacy, regional cooperation, peace, unity, development, and sustainability. He emphasized that partnerships like these are vital for strengthening Sierra Leone’s presence and influence within the Mano River Union and beyond.

Deputy Ambassador Lusanie Kallon also lauded U Team SL’s dedication to advancing Sierra Leone’s development agenda, highlighting the importance of collaboration between youth-led initiatives and diplomatic missions in achieving shared goals.

The eight-member delegation concluded the visit by thanking Ambassador Massally and Deputy Ambassador Kallon for their unwavering support and contributions toward Sierra Leone’s developmental progress. The meeting underscored the importance of diplomacy, partnership, and collective action in advancing national and regional development.

The delegation emphasized the importance of aligning progress and development with regional integration and collaboration among national organisations and regional bodies. This visit reflects U Team SL’s commitment to fostering strong relationships with strategic partners, promoting regional cooperation, and ensuring that Sierra Leone’s development agenda is supported through collaborative efforts across borders.

The diplomatic engagement climaxed with the presentation of awards of recognition and membership incorporation to His Excellency Ambassador Eddy S. Massally, in appreciation of his outstanding diplomatic service, promotion of bilateral relations, and fostering cooperation between Sierra Leone and Liberia, and to His Excellency Deputy Ambassador Lusanie Kallon, in recognition of his dedication to strengthening Sierra Leone–Liberia relations.

The delegation’s visit underscores U Team SL’s commitment to fostering regional integration and cooperation, aligning with its motto, “We Are Stronger Together.”

The successful meeting has paved the way for future collaborations, with both parties looking forward to implementing agreed-upon strategies.
