United Team Sierra Leone – U Team SL’s mission featured strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration across the Mano River Union and ECOWAS sub-region

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) delegation continued its diplomatic mission in Monrovia with a courtesy audience at the Liberian Senate, Capitol Hill. The delegation was introduced by Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr., Head of the Liberia Delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament, who formally welcomed U Team SL to the Senate and highlighted their role as a youth‑driven organisation committed to regional cooperation and development.

Led by Head of Delegation and Founding Member Madam Watta Koroma, the team explained that the purpose of the visit was to advance U Team SL’s institutional mandate of strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration. Discussions focused on initiatives that will benefit women and youth across the two sisterly countries, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

During the engagement, Senator Nyonblee Karnga‑Lawrence, President Pro Tempore of the Liberian Senate, commended U Team SL for entrusting female leadership within the organisation, describing it as a powerful example of inclusivity and empowerment. She assured the delegation of her highest commitment and dedication to supporting their mission and vision, emphasizing her readiness to collaborate on programmes that promote women’s empowerment, civic participation, and sustainable development.

The meeting climaxed with a symbolic gesture of recognition: Madam Watta Koroma, on behalf of the general membership of U Team SL, officially dressed Senator Karnga‑Lawrence in the organisation’s attire. This act honoured her values of service in the Liberian Senate and beyond, while also acknowledging her role as founder of Nyonblee Cares, a non‑profit organisation dedicated to supporting impoverished Liberians.

In addition, a birthday award of recognition was formally presented to Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr., in appreciation of his dedication, hard work, and leadership in advancing regional integration and parliamentary diplomacy.
Key senators of the Liberian Senate also provided a collective audience with U Team SL, underscoring the importance of partnership between civil society organisations and legislative leadership in achieving shared development goals.

The engagement concluded with mutual appreciation and a shared commitment to deepen collaboration between U Team SL and the Liberian Senate. The meeting underscored the importance of diplomacy, partnership, and collective action in advancing national and regional development, particularly in empowering women and youth.

The delegation’s visit underscores U Team SL’s commitment to fostering regional integration and cooperation, aligning with its motto, “We Are Stronger Together.”

The successful meeting has paved the way for future collaborations, with both parties looking forward to implementing agreed-upon strategies. U Team SL’s diplomatic efforts in Liberia demonstrate its dedication to promoting regional development and cooperation.
