Bangura, graced the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) Conference held on November 8th 2025 in Pujehun District under the theme: “Transforming From District to National – The Role of Youth in Nation Building.” Her presence at the landmark event underscored the importance of institutional leadership in advancing grassroots-driven development and empowering Sierra Leone’s youth.
In her opening remarks, Madam Bangura commended U Team SL for its bold vision and strategic mission to transform Pujehun District into a model of inclusive growth and national relevance. She emphasized that the organization’s focus on youth empowerment, volunteerism, peace, unity, and sustainable development resonates deeply with Sierra Leone’s broader national agenda.

She noted that her participation is not in her capacity as Commissioner General for NRA, but as a distinguished daughter of Pujehun District, reaffirming that the gathering aims to crate family dialogue between descendants of the district and this is not the first time. We have gathered severally to discuss the developmental growth of Pujehun district but has yet to lead good dividend as it is her believe that this U Team SL conference will mark a new year and new beginning of the way forward of the district. She noted.
Madam Bangura reaffirmed her commitment to supporting the mission and vision of U Team SL, pledging to work alongside the organization in fostering programs that promote education, healthcare, agriculture, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. She highlighted the importance of volunteerism as a cornerstone of civic responsibility, noting that collective action by citizens is essential for peace, unity, and sustainable progress. She acknowledged the documentary played by the U Team SL which she noted was the actual status of the district in terms of challenges. ‘’We have done much as a district but due to the fact that we are not working as a team and we are not coordinated, is like we are doing nothing as a district, and until we work as a team to develop the district before we succeed.’’ She narrated
‘’We (Pujehun) have done much as a district but due to the fact that we are not working as a team and we are not coordinated, is like we are doing nothing as a district, and until we work as a team to develop the district before we succeed.’’ Madam Jeneba J. Bangura – Commissioner General, National Revenue Authority (NRA)
She furthered that she has contributed immensely towards the growth of Pujehun district and she is doing her little contribution to change the district. This has been demonstrated through my support to reopen the operation of a weekly market called ‘’Gbamgbama Luma’’ which has helped people to exchange trade in that part of the district. She said.

Commissioner General Jeneba J. Bangura encouraged all and sundry to help contribute to the development of the district; especially in the trade and revenue mobilization drive. She motivated descendants to work with the revenue team and support national revenue mobilization which has enhanced her leadership to establish revenue post at the border of the district with Liberia and have designed a symbolic revenue image of demarcation as national identity in the side of Sierra Leone from Liberia including rehabilitation of the Jendema PHU with solar lights.

She said she has equally contributed to many development initiatives and youth empowerment programs. ‘’ How I want to see Pujehun District in the next five years is to see all of us working as a team as brothers and sisters and the sky will be our limit. I therefore commend the people that who stand by me and support me to contribute to national development’’. She said.
Her participation at the conference was not only symbolic but also practical, as she expressed readiness to collaborate with U Team SL in advancing district-level priorities that align with national development strategies. She encouraged other leaders, institutions, and stakeholders to join hands in supporting the organization’s Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (SDP 2024–2030), which envisions Pujehun as a hub of innovation, resilience, and youth-led transformation.

Madam Bangura concluded with a powerful call to action that, the U Team SL is a development organization wishing to complement the agenda of the Government of Sierra Leone in this part of the country. ‘’ I therefore consulates and declare my support and contribution to the U Team SL in whatever way I could to achieve the mission and vision of the organization and I am ready to work with everyone towards the developmental growth of Pujehun District’’ Madam Jeneba J. Bangura – Commissioner General of the National Revenue Authority (NRA)
