United Team Sierra Leone – U Team SL’s mission featured strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration across the Mano River Union and ECOWAS sub-region

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) delegation paid a diplomatic courtesy visit to Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr., Head of the Liberia Delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament, at his office in Monrovia, Liberia. The delegation was warmly received and engaged in a productive dialogue centered on regional integration, youth empowerment, and sustainable development.

Led by Founding Member Madam Watta Koroma, the delegation explained that the purpose of the visit was to advance U Team SL’s institutional mandate of strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration. The meeting provided an opportunity to share the organisation’s vision and strengthen ties with ECOWAS leadership.

During the engagement, the Head of the U Team SL Secretariat, Mr. Mohamed Kallon, together with other delegation members, expressed gratitude to Senator Snowe for hosting them. He outlined the organisation’s Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (2024–2030), which aligns with ECOWAS regional priorities, particularly in the areas of youth development, employability, civic participation, and inclusive growth.

The delegation appealed for the exploration of apolitical partnership opportunities, including strategic guidance and support in resource mobilization efforts, as well as sustaining the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) Trust Fund.

In his remarks, Senator Snowe commended U Team SL for its proactive initiatives aimed at empowering Sierra Leoneans and fostering regional collaboration. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting peace, unity, development and sustainability in the ECOWAS region. Senator Snowe emphasized that partnerships with youth-led organisations such as U Team SL are vital for strengthening regional integration and advancing collective prosperity. He further accepted the organisation’s call for collaboration, pledging his support and contribution to U Team SL’s ongoing initiatives.

As part of the engagement, the delegation presented an Award of Recognition to Senator Edwin Melvin Snowe, Jr. in appreciation of his outstanding leadership, dedication to regional integration, and in celebration of a remarkable life of service.

The award symbolized U Team SL’s gratitude for his distinguished contributions to parliamentary diplomacy and his unwavering commitment to fostering cooperation within ECOWAS.

The meeting concluded with mutual appreciation and a shared commitment to deepen collaboration between U Team SL and ECOWAS leadership. The engagement underscored the importance of diplomacy, partnership, and collective action in advancing national and regional development goals.
