United Team Sierra Leone – U Team SL’s mission featured strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration across the Mano River Union and ECOWAS sub-region

A delegation from the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) paid a diplomatic visit to the Robert Flight Information Region (RFIR) headquarters in Monrovia, Liberia, on February 13, 2026. The delegation, led by Watta Koroma, held discussions with the RFIR Secretary General, Mr. Emil Rogers, and senior management, focusing on strengthening regional cooperation and collaboration between U Team SL and RFIR.

The visit aimed to enhance partnership and coordination between the two organizations; thereby enhancing cooperation between regional and national organizations.

The U Team SL delegation expressed appreciation for RFIR’s work in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone, and presented their Six-Year Strategic Development Plan (2024-2030) and the U Team SL Development Trust Fund worth $ 2.7 million.

They appealed for RFIR’s support and contributions in popularizing their development operations to increase citizens’ awareness between Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. The delegation also appealed for the exploration of apolitical partnership opportunities, including strategic guidance and support in resource mobilization efforts, as well as sustaining the United Team Sierra Leone Trust Fund.

In his statement, Mr. Emil Rogers, RFIR Secretary General, acknowledged U Team SL’s efforts and assured them of RFIR’s support and commitment. He presented RFIR’s work and development programs in the three countries and encouraged U Team SL to remain committed to their mission.

Mr. Rogers reaffirmed RFIR’s readiness to support U Team SL’s vision in advancing peace, unity, development, and sustainability across the Mano River Union region. He personally expressed his happiness and gratitude to the U Team SL, and affirmed his unwavering commitment to the people of the region in enhancing indelible empowerment opportunities to youth-led organizations like the work of the U Team SL.

The meeting also involved discussions on ways to increase visibility and cooperation in Guinea, Liberia, and Sierra Leone.
Senior members of RFIR in the meeting appreciated U Team SL’s positive impact and encouraged them to expand their presence in the three countries, in order to strengthen cooperation between the three countries. They suggested establishing United Team Sierra Leone, United Team Guinea, and United Team Liberia as a mechanism to strengthen sustainability, unity, peace, and development cooperation.

The two organizations agreed to collaborate on joint initiatives, with RFIR committing to support U Team SL’s developmental growth and sustainability. The session climaxed by U Team SL by presenting award of recognition to Mr. Emil Rogers, Secretary General, Roberts Flight Information Region (RFIR), Monrovia, Liberia, on behalf of the General Membership of the U Team SL, in appreciation of outstanding service and dedication to aviation safety and regional cooperation; ensuring safe and efficient air traffic management, providing critical flight information and alerting services, and fostering regional aviation cooperation in the region.

The Award of Recognition presented to Mr. Emil Rogers highlighted his contributions to aviation safety and regional cooperation.

The delegation’s visit underscores U Team SL’s commitment to fostering regional integration and cooperation, aligning with its motto, “We Are Stronger Together.”

The successful meeting has paved the way for future collaborations, with both parties looking forward to implementing their agreed-upon strategies. U Team SL’s diplomatic efforts in Liberia demonstrate its dedication to promoting regional development and cooperation.
