United Team Sierra Leone – U Team SL’s mission featured strategic stakeholder engagement, partnership building, and regional development collaboration across the Mano River Union and ECOWAS sub-region

On Thursday, February 12, 2026, the United Team Sierra Leone (U Team SL) delegation held a high‑level diplomatic engagement with Madam Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah, newly appointed Minister of Youth and Sports Designate of the Republic of Liberia. The meeting, held at the Ministry’s offices in Monrovia, formed part of U Team SL’s mission to foster regional partnerships, collaboration, and diplomatic cooperation in advancing youth and sports development across the Mano River Union sub-region.

Led by Founding Member and Head of Delegation Madam Watta Koroma, the team explained that the purpose of the meeting was to strengthen ties with Liberia’s youth and sports leadership, in line with U Team SL’s institutional mandate of strategic stakeholder engagement and regional development collaboration.

Madam Kruah acknowledged the contributions and commitment of U Team SL in promoting youth and sports development in Sierra Leone, and commended their mission to Liberia for partnership building and collaboration. She assured the delegation of her fullest commitment to youth and sports activities, noting that immediately after her parliamentary approval she would move into effective and efficient action to enhance achievement in the sector.

The conversation continued with her assigned personnel: Mr. Samuel James Kpartor, a development expert in Liberia’s youth sector, and Mr. Printis Domah, a decentralization expert in the youth sector. Both officials emphasized the importance of coordinated efforts in advancing youth empowerment and sports development across the region.

The meeting climaxed with U Team SL presenting an Award of Recognition to Madam Cornelia Wonkerleh Kruah in appreciation of her appointment as Minister of Youth and Sports Designate, and in recognition of her unwavering support, contribution, and dedication to youth empowerment and sports development in Liberia and the sub-region.

Both parties committed to collaborate and coordinate activities in promoting youth and sports development between Sierra Leone and Liberia. U Team SL further assured Madam Kruah that her message would be conveyed to the Minister of Youth Affairs and the Minister of Sports in Sierra Leone, with the aim of championing her experience‑sharing visit to Sierra Leone after her parliamentary approval.

The engagement concluded with mutual appreciation and a shared commitment to deepen cooperation between U Team SL and Liberia’s Ministry of Youth and Sports, underscoring the importance of diplomacy, partnership, and collective action in advancing youth empowerment and sports development across the Mano River Union region.

The delegation’s visit underscores U Team SL’s commitment to fostering regional integration and cooperation, aligning with its motto, “We Are Stronger Together.”
